10 Thanksgiving Desserts

Although the turkey is the star of the show, it is definitely the dessert that gets all the attention. I often like to go all out with the dessert and with falls harvest around there are plenty of options. My biggest problem is trying to decide which dessert to make as there are just too many amazing options. Despite the fact that I want to go all out on dessert I recognize the fact that the Thanksgiving meal is already a huge production and so I appreciate a dessert that can be made a day or two ahead of time.

Pumpkin Pie - My favourite dessert during this time of the year has to be a pumpkin pie. Give it a gingersnap crust and a drizzle or caramel and it is impossible to resist.

Triple Chocolate Pumpkin Pie - Chocolate makes everything better and this pumpkin pie includes no less than three kinds of chocolate!

Vanilla Apple Crisp with Caramel Sauce - With all of the work involved in the Thanksgiving dinner, sometimes it is nice to have a dessert that is easy to make. This apple crisp spiked with caramel sauce is super easy to make and it will disappear faster than that scoop of melting vanilla ice cream on it.

Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake - I did not think that it could get any better than pumpkin pie but if you combine it with a cheesecake it does just that! Two amazing desserts combined to make something great then the sum of its parts!

Maple Pecan Pie - Sweet sugary pecan pie is a classic with good reason and I often like to add a hint of maple to mine!

Dulce de Leche Apple Pie - You can never go wrong with a warm apple pie and adding sweet dulce de leche is definitely a great way to change it up every once in a while!

Chestnut Cheesecake - If you are a fan of chestnuts then this cheesecake is the way to go for a nice seasonal Thnaksgiving dessert!

Sweet Potato Pecan Pie - Sweet potato pie on the bottom and pecan pie on the top! A great way to get to enjoy two desserts without getting caught with two slices of pie on you plate!

Medjool Date Pecan Pie - This is a purely decadent take on a pecan pie that that is made even sweeter by the medjool dates!

Raspberry and Dark Chocolate Cheesecake - Cheesecake is definitely a crowd pleaser and this one comes with a hidden layer of dark chocolate and raspberries!

Melissa Good Taste: Yes I use a hand blender for soups. It is so much easier than transferring to a full blender in batches.
Helen: Yes, I make and photograph all of the food on Closet Cooking.

I am loving it! So many goodies!
Oh Kevin, you naughty, naughty man! Among other goodies, you made pecan pie, the sweetest of all holiday pies, even sweeter. Who would even think of improving on a most delectable dessert?
When my pecan pie loving husband showed a wisp of rare open-mindedness so I jumped at the chance.
(We couldn't get our hands on Medjool and used Deglet Noor dates instead. They were lighter and less rich, but worked out.)
What a success! My husband loved the pie and asked for it again next year.
ps you had me at Bacon Jam.
