Cuban Mojo Grilled Pork Chops

Cuban Mojo Grilled Pork Chops
Now that grilling season is here I have a new recipe for the grill for you, these tasty cuban style mojo grilled pork chops! These pork chops are super simple, you marinate them in a cuban style mojo sauce which is a sour orange sauce with plenty of garlic with some additional oregano and cumin! After the pork has marinated it's grilled to perfection and then served topped with more of the mojo sauce and sautéed onions! Excluding the marinate time these grilled pork chops take almost no time to make making them a great weeknight meal and they are also nice on a weekend barbecue party! I like to serve these pork chops with a side of cuban style black beans and grilled pineapple or a pineapple salsa.

Grilled pork chops marinated in and served with a tasty Cuban style mojo or sour orange and garlic sauce!

  • 10 cloves garlic
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups sour orange juice (1 cup orange juice + 1/2 cup lime juice)
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cumin, toasted and ground
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 1 pound pork chops
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  1. Puree the garlic, onion, sour orange juice, oregano, cumin, salt and pepper in a food processor or blender, place 1/2 of the mixture into a large sealable bag with the pork chops and marinate in the fridge overnight.
  2. Heat the grill or a grill pan to medium-high heat, add the pork chops and cook until lightly golden brown on one side, about 3-5 minutes, flip them and cook until the pork chops are done, about 3 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a pan over medium heat, add the onions and cook until just tender, about 5 minutes, add the remaining mojo sauce, bring to a simmer and remove from heat.
  4. Serve the grilled pork chops covered in the mojo and onion sauce and enjoy!

These are delicious! I’ve made them twice now, with half the onion and a mango/peach juice with lime added (because that’s what I had in the fridge) and the chops came out so juicy and flavourful. Excellent change of pace from the usual pork chop preparations!
