Cooking adventures in a small, closet sized, kitchen. - I came to realize that my meals were boring and that I had been eating the same few dishes over and over again for years. It was time for a change! I now spend my free time searching for, creating and trying tasty new recipes in my closet sized kitchen.

I once made a recipe with this type of carmel in it. The photo looked beautiful and gooey, much like this one. Unfortunately, when it cools, the carmels are back to being solid.

This works well in muffin form! The bake time will be around 20 minutes. Enjoy!

I made this bread but I changed a few things. One comment disliked the texture because of the oatmeal, so I omitted the oatmeal, only sprinkling some on the top like the photo. I used 3 cups of apples, dicing them into smaller pieces. I added one cup of roasted pecan pieces to the batter. I also cut the caramel into quarter size pieces. The bread did fit into my 9X5 loaf pan. We made french toast with this bread and ate it with a small amount of butter and powdered sugar. This bread is good. I may try chocolate chips instead of caramel next time.

What kind of a texture did the oats give your bread that you did not enjoy?

This was probably one of the most 'unsatisfying' recipes I have ever made. The taste was okay but I found the oats made the texture horrible. You know how to make a grown man cry .... have him waste a bag of Kraft caramels. I am sure there are better uses of good caramels other than trying to make the whole wheat flour and oats taste good. Not a great combo of ingredients here, I give this one a FAIL.
