Cooking adventures in a small, closet sized, kitchen. - I came to realize that my meals were boring and that I had been eating the same few dishes over and over again for years. It was time for a change! I now spend my free time searching for, creating and trying tasty new recipes in my closet sized kitchen.

Just made this cake this morning to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, and it is even more delicious than it is easy! The only thing I'd recommend and will do myself the next time is double the frosting recipe, particularly if I do the 2 cakes again (which I probably won't, since 1 cake is much easier to deal with). It's absolutely scrumptious but it needs more frosting! YUMMY!!!!!!!

Kevin, I love your recipes and your creativity, but you are shooting yourself in the foot!
There are two things that have made your site too annoying to peruse anymore.
One, 85% (or more) of your reviews are useless "looks good" "can't wait to try" drivel. Not your fault!
Two, the invasive relentless ads that pop onto each and every screen are more than I can stand. There has to be some kind of balance...
Too bad. Done.
Best wishes going forward.

In reply to <a href="https://www.closetcooking.com/chocolate-stout-cake-with-baileys-cream/#comment-74155">Judy</a>.

The baking time is going to depend on the size of the dish. If it is a large one (9x13 inch) start checking at about 30 minutes and a smaller dish will be closer to 40 minutes. The 9 inch diameter circular pan that I use takes about 45 minutes. The real test is when a toothpick pushed into the center comes out clean. Enjoy!

Kevin!!! Oh my!!! This looks like a bit of heaven. You just helped me decide what I will serve for dessert at dinner this weekend with good friends. Can't wait to try it. The icing...oh wow, it sounds delish!

redvolvo: I have not tried it but you should be able to replace the cocoa powder with 4 ounces of unsweetened chocolate and reducing the butter by 1/4 cup.
