Cooking adventures in a small, closet sized, kitchen. - I came to realize that my meals were boring and that I had been eating the same few dishes over and over again for years. It was time for a change! I now spend my free time searching for, creating and trying tasty new recipes in my closet sized kitchen.

Dear Kevin, I have an electric vertical rotisserie and planing of using it, but as you know the authentic Shawarma has to be sliced as the outer layer gets cooked, which takes longer time and also the first cut will get cold by the time you finish slicing! Do you think that I should use your oven method instead or shall I go ahead with my lovely rotisserie? Thanks. I am sure either method will end up delicious.

In the blizzard this weekend I did your chicken Schwarma…it was amazing Kevin! Very Spicy…which we like, and with a yogurt topping perfect! The skewers were abit challenging..ok like, it may have toppled a few times, but I was determined to make it stand! It feeds a crowd! I also froze a portion for a quick meal! I used boneless thighs…red onions.. I highly recommend this beast of a spicy yummy meal! Thx , love your blog

The marinade is delicious but as soon as the onion holding the skewers started cooking, it softened and the entire stack of chicken fell over. I’m surprised this wasn’t addressed in the recipe.

I have made this recipe about a dozen times! It is a favorite amongst my friends and family. People are now requesting when they are coming over for dinner. Could you use boneless, skinless chicken breasts?

Hello Kevin, from the sunny Okanagan. Love this recipe, as we do so many of yours. Thanks, thanks. Now the burning question - Do you think I could cut up one (or more) of those (usually Butterball) Boneless Turkey Roasts (usually kept frozen in the grocery stores) to create Thanksgiving Roast Turkey Shawarma Gyros?? :)

Yes you can! Fry them in a tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium-high heat until cooked through. Medium sized chicken thighs will take about 4-6 minutes per side to cook. You could also cut the chicken thighs into bite sized pieces before marinating and they will cook faster. Enjoy!
