Cooking adventures in a small, closet sized, kitchen. - I came to realize that my meals were boring and that I had been eating the same few dishes over and over again for years. It was time for a change! I now spend my free time searching for, creating and trying tasty new recipes in my closet sized kitchen.

I am not a white chocolate fan either, But this is wonderful. Honestly I'm not sure substituting would give the cranberry orange flavor the compliment it needs. I may be wrong but this is delicious as printed!

I love the sound and look of these as is, but some have mentioned about not liking "white chocolate". I too don't care for "white chocolate" very much, but I think with dark chocolate they'd lose their "Christmas" look, so I'm going to keep with "white chocolate". Thank you Kevin and I wish you a Very Merry Christmas from Australia. Looking forward to MANY MORE of your recipes in the New Year.

I have done the same thing (converting) with ALL weights and measures then printed them out and placed my charts on a "Pin Board" for quick and easy references. I'm in Australia and it's NO BIG DEAL anymore!

I just made these this afternoon. Mine took a lot longer than 20 minutes though! I know everyone's oven is different but my oven is only a year old and based on other recipes, I think it's accurate. Mine took about 35 minutes before I was satisfied they were done. They smelled amazing! The icing is lovely - I did add the extra cup of icing sugar and was very happy with the consistency of it. I put in a tbsp of eggnog instead of the orange juice as I didn't use the orange zest in the bar. I made these to give away on cookies trays that I do up for our neighbours - well, if my husband doesn't eat all of them before I get a chance to assemble said trays!!

I would keep these for about 7 to 10 days at the most. They also freeze well so you can store them for longer in the freezer.
