I came across this post about “Parmigiano Reggiano with Honey and Walnuts” a while ago. It looked pretty interesting. I never would have thought to combine cheese and honey. I was so intrigued that I just had to try it. It was a really tasty treat! The the sweetness of the honey perfectly complemented the parmigiano reggiano. Now I will have to look for some more interesting ways of using cheese in sweet dishes.

I love this combo! Lately I have been loving cheese with sweet things. Sharp cheddar with apples is my new favorite snack.

Hi Kevin,
Then try Fruit & Cheese Pastry with Sweet Chilli Sauce!
I was curious as well, that is why I made it and it was so delicious that few days later I had to make it again! 🙂

So simple yet such a fantastic combo. I love black figs, goat cheese and warm honey.

That’s very popular in Spain with the aged Manchego – also a dry, sharp cheese, ewe’s milk!

Well, it works with yogurt! I’ve never tried it with cheese, though.

Hi Kevin, I like drizzling cheese with some dessert wine (e.g. botrytis semillon). I’ve also had a cheese plate in a restaurant where they drizzled a wonderful aged port.

Hi Kevin! I found this so interesting because just this week when I was in Malaga, Spain we visited a great wine shop and got to taste some very sweet and delicious wines. We bought a couple bottles of very sweet moscato flavored with honey – a dessert wine which they recommended serving with sharp, strong cheeses such as manchego or pecorino. I can’t wait to try this sweet and salty combination!
Kevin says
Moscato and pecorino sounds interesting. I will have to try it.

Cheddar on graham crackers tastes REALLY good, too!
