Saganaki is a really tasty of fried cheese snack. Halloumi or kasseri cheese is fried in butter and lemon. When the cheese is fried it takes a really nice texture. The outside is crispy and the inside is warm and chewy. It has a really nice salty and lemony flavour.

OMG! More cheese! It looks faaaaaabulous, but you have a tougher tummy than I have, obviously!
I just had this in Chicago and it was fantastic! Love it!
My absolute most favorite thing at Greek restaurants. The perfect ‘comfort’ food!
It looks marvelous.
I love fried halloumi! It is one of those wonderful summer treats when you do it out on the grill!
this would be so good over a green salad! i loooove this recipe!
When my daughter and I go to the Greek restaurants we always have Saganaki. You can buy what they call Saganaki cheese at the Mediterranean Market here. I think it is Kasseri, they don’t really know, but it sure is good, fried up, sprinkled with a little lemon juice and maybe ouzo or Cointreau!!!
Ohhh, this looks soooo good!!!
What’s not to love – fried cheese 🙂
Great minds think alike Kevin… I’ve blogged about this too… when I made it I poured brandy over it and lit on fire (and nearly myself too)… yours looks great

The brandy sounds interesting if a bit dangerous.
