I always enjoy making Japanese style pork cutlets (aka tonkatsu) which is really nice when topped with a Tonkatsu sauce! Although I usually have tonkatsu sauce around, sometimes I’m out and since I usually need to make a trip to a specialty store to get it, it’s nice to be able to make something pretty similar at home using ingredients that I normally have in my pantry. Tonkatsu sauce is a Japanese version of Worcestershire sauce that is thicker, similar to brown sauce. Although the sauce is typically pretty complex, a nice simple way to make it at home is to simply mix Worcestershire sauce with ketchup along with some soy sauce. If you can’t find tonkatsu sauce, ran out, or simply just don’t want to have another container in your pantry, this simple homemade version is a quick, easy and tasty alternative.

Tonkatsu (Japanese Pork Cutlets)
Simply superb recipe
I ran out of tonkatsu sauce and stocks ran out in the store too. I started furiously looking for a recipe online when I remembered I had seen it here. Thanks for this. You saved my dinner plans else I would have had to redo the menu.
