Summer is the perfect time for enjoying burgers and this summer I seem to be on a burger kick. I have made a few different burgers so far using a different meat in each one. I wanted to try making chicken burgers next and I was thinking that curried chicken burgers would be really tasty. I started out with the ground chicken and added a heaping tablespoon of my favorite curry powder followed by some ginger, garlic and some chili heat. I also wanted to try making the burgers with some herbs in them and cilantro sounded perfect. I could not resist dressing the burger up with some spicy mango chutney and some cool and creamy curried mayonnaise. The chicken burgers turned out pretty good. They were nice and moist and they held together well. Most importantly, they were really tasty! The mango chutney and mayonnaise went well with the chicken burgers adding even more flavour. I served the chicken burgers with some curried potato salad with peas and some mango and black bean salsa. It was a really nice summer meal.
Curried Chicken Burger
- 1 pound ground chicken

- 1 teaspoon garlic (grated)
- 1 teaspoon ginger (grated)
- 1 teaspoon chili sauce
- 1/4 cup green onions (chopped)
- 1/4 cup cilantro (chopped)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
- 4 buns
- curried mayonnaise
- mango chutney
- Mix the chicken, curry powder, garlic, ginger, chili sauce, green onions, cilantro, egg, and bread crumbs in a large bowl.
- Form 4 patties and place on a broiling pan.
- Broil until cooked, about 10-15 minutes flipping once in the middle.

Curried chicken burger sounds delicious! Now you’re giving me a burger craving.
such an innovative idea… lovely… 🙂
mmm…sounds yummy. I love curried chicken salad so this would be just as good! I usually add some pineapple chunks to my curried chicken salad, so perhaps try a grilled pineapple ring if you don’t have the mango chutney! It’s a good combo!
You make the best chicken dishes!

I could eat one of those eventhough I’ve just got out of bed!!! Scrumptious!
dam… that looks great! im not a big fan of beef so this would be a good alternative to regular burgers for me. thanks!
Great idea, Kevin. Healthy lowfat chicken and no beef to mar the great flavors of the curry and the chutney. What about the peanut sauce, just use some of the Indo/Thai bottled sauce?
Another nice burger recipe. I’ll have too many to try on my list soon.

Love this idea. I recently made something with mango chutney and just adored it. That means I’ll definitely be trying out this recipe! Beautiful picture, too!
Followed this recipe for dinner the other night. The individual parts gathered for assembly after cooking all looked/smelled/tasted good, but when I put them together… Wow! Absolutely delicious.
I never finish a 1/4 lb burger, but I sure did Thursday night.
Kevin, thank you. And thanks in advance, for all the other meals I’m going to work my way through.
Made these last night and having leftovers now for lunch – wanted you to know that these are SO GOOD! Thanks!
