Creamy Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

[heart_this] · Feb 19, 2008 · 25 Comments

Creamy Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

It seems that I have not been do much with potatoes lately. I had been wanting to try making my own garlic mashed potatoes for a while and I thought: What better to go with the steak dinner that I was having? Making the garlic mashed potatoes took a bit of effort but it was certainly worth it. The roasted garlic mashed potatoes turned out really well! They were so creamy and good. The flavour of the sweet roasted garlic was just amazing. These were easily the best mashed potatoes that I have had. I will definitely be making these again.

Wow, roasted garlic and cheese – mmm!

By the way, if you have leftover roasted garlic, peel it then put it on a plastic covered plate and freeze it. Then when it is frozen store it in a double baggie. Just thaw it out to use it.

I’ll pass on the meat, but you surely do encourage me to experiment more with spuds.

I would include some soaked dried wild mushrooms with a bit of dill.

mmmmm, I love potatoes. I haven’t been doing much with them lately either. And I’ve always wanted to roast my own garlic. I’m definitely going to have to try this.

Roasted garlic mashed potatoes are the best and these look delicious (and perfect for steak)!

Some other wonderful additions I’ve enjoyed in the past: goat cheese, caramelized/roasted shallots, or mushrooms.

Oh Kevin! Now you’ve done it! Mashed potatoes are my favorite comfort food. I can’t resist them. And adding the roasted garlic to them? Well, that just pushes it out of the stratosphere for me! Yahoo!

Hi Kevin, I have dropped over to pay a visit via Holler’s site. I guess I am in time for dinner! Perfect combination, potatoes and garlic! I adore the way garlic makes the house smell while it is roasting! And…putting cream cheese in the mashed potatoes, the best!
