I did not mean to brig you another grilled cheese sandwich so soon after the last one but as I was cleaning out the fridge, like I do every Friday night, I came across some of the apple chutney that I made a while ago. Since it had been busy day I had been looking for something simple for dinner anyways, a grilled cheese sandwich with apple chutney was a perfect fit. I really like the way that sweet, tangy, hot and spicy chutneys work with the melted cheese in grilled cheese sandwiches and I enjoy them fairly frequently. I also enjoy adding apple slices to grilled cheese sandwiches so adding some of the apple chutney sounded like a win win situation and it was! I think that this apple chutney grilled cheese sandwich is now my favorite chutney style grilled cheese sandwich so far. It is always fun to find things that you had forgotten about when cleaning out the fridge and this time it turned into a quick and easy meal on a busy Friday night.

I'm a sucker for a great grilled cheese sandwich, and this is certainly one such sandwich! The apple chutney sounds like a delicious flavor addition.
Apple and cheese are two of my favorite flavor combinations! One of my favorite easy meals is a calzone with brie, proscuitto, green apples and sage – delish!
Cheese always goes well with something sweet and spicy! Love the melting cheese!
Kevin, you're killing me. I have a crush on your grilled cheese sandwich recipes. And i'm lactose intolerant!
Wow, that's super!
There's really no such thing as too much grilled cheese Kevin. Another great combination!
I disagree, your pics make having a new sandwich everyday, worthwhile and something to look forward to.
I think it was the cheesy goodness that spoke to my hunger.
sounds great, Kevin! Can't go wrong with apples & cheese in my book.
Love this. Simple, inexpensive, fast and another great way to make a grilled cheese. I've made one with mango chutney and fontina that's terrific. I'm making yours for lunch today!
I should clean out my fridge every friday night. I'd find all kinds of stuff in there! 🙂 This grilled sandwich looks so delicious!
That is the probably best looking grilled cheese sandwich I've ever seen. I wanted to eat my computer screen!
Kevin, this is a great sandwich! Sometimes I will make it on Cinnamon-Raisin bread to add a different twist.
Yay! Mouth watering…
Kevin, this looks absolutely mouth-watering! I wish I could have that sandwich now!
Wow. That cheese. The bread. This photo. You're making me hungry at 3 in the morning!
This apple chutney is beyond delicious – wonderful recipe! I love the grilled cheese idea and did a "cheese test"… havarti was the big winner! And, for my carnivorous friends have been adding proscuitto or serrano ham!
That looks delicious. And I love your combination of grilled cheese with apple chutney. I just discovered your blog this week. Very nice!
That looks delicious! Good site Have a good day!
