Snickerdoodles

December is here and that means that the holiday baking season is now upon us! I wanted to ease into the baking and since I was craving something with cinnamon, snickerdoodles seemed like the perfect thing to start with. Snickerdoodles are a cookie that is rolled in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon before baking and they are so addictively good! One of the things that is so amazing about snickerdooles is how easier they are to make; I mean really, all that needs to be done is mix the wet ingredients, mix the dry ingredients, mix them together, roll, coat and bake. All said and done you will be passing those tasty little treats back an forth between your hands, blowing on them to cool, in less than 20 minutes!

Excuse me while I get back to my milk and snickerdoodles.

You might want to double check either the butter or flour amounts...I had to add way more than 1 1/4 cups flour (not sure exactly how much, sorry!) to get them to stick together correctly. But after that, they were delicious!
These are one of my favourite cookies too! I am not much of a baker, I prefer to cook but this recipe is so easy and so delicious looking I have to try! Thanks for this recipe, you made my day!
These look delicious! I love snickerdoodles.
These look excellent, and like you said they are so simple yet amazing. And it looks like you made a ton... any extras send my way : )

Just made them ~ easy and delicious!
I love snickerdoodles but my grandmother usually sends them to me as part of a care package so I've never actually had to make them myself. Maybe I'll give it a try this year.
Beautiful snickerdoodles! I love those cookies.

Snickerdoodles really are one of the best cookies out there! You just can't beat the combination of cinnamon and sugar.
I've still never made this classic cookie! So weird. Can't wait to try!
One of my favorites! I can eat these any time of the year.
Looks great! Tis the season for cookies!
Oh I am in love! Snickerdoodles are my all time favorite cookie! I will try this recipe the weekend so I can have my favorite cookie nearby while playing Skyrim! Thanks!
My son's favorite cookie. So glad you don't use cream of tarter...never liked the zing flavor from it.
An oldie but a goodie! We LOVE snickerdoodles. And let's face it, who doesn't love just saying "snickerdoodles?" :)
Liz: I am ad that you got them to work. Both amounts are correct and the ones that I have been using. The 1/2 cup of butter is also 1 stick or 8 tablespoons.
I tried to make these once and they did not turn out, I will give this recipe a try.
I have been following your blog for a little while now. You have great recipes!
Snickerdoodles used to be my absolute favorite cookie when I was a child.
I featured your blog in my Follow Friday post for today.
Thanks!
oh it looks delicious *drools* gotta bake it! thanks for that yummy post :)
MMMM!!! I LOVE snickerdoodles. I may make them and take them to work so that *I* don't eat them all.
That looks so delicious and yummy...
thanks for share i wanna to make it soon.
I've never made snickerdoodles, but I love them. Now I have a good recipe.:)
I always made them with marachino cherries in the middle... is my family just weird? I NEVER see them made like that in the blogosphere...
Looks great. I love making snickerdoodles. Love the concept for your blog.
Adding these to my holiday list of "things to cook and bake" - they look absolutely fantastic. I am a terrible baker (things always burn or come out raw), but I think this might be my saving grace. Happy holidays!
Have been a fan of Snickerdoodles since my childhood when my mother made them. But, where is the cream of tarter. That's what makes them Snickerdoodles.
Just gorgeous as always!
I've sampled TONS of recipes from various sites. This is by far the very best Snickerdoodle out there and my number one go-to.
