Htipiti (or tirokafteri or tyrokafteri or tyrokavteri) is a Greek style whipped feta cheese and roasted red pepper dip or spread and with the holiday season on us I just had to whip up a batch! At it’s base this dip typically consists of feta, Greek yogurt, roasted red peppers, lemon juice and garlic and it is all pureed or whipped into a dip. I tend to serve this Greek roasted red pepper and feta dip with toasted pita chips but veggies are also great for scooping!
One of the great things about this dip is that you can easily change up the flavours by adding things, like sundried tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, sriracha, roasted jalapenos, cream cheese, mayonnaise, etc.

Thanks for the mention…isn’t it just divine? The sun dried tomatoes are the suprising “x-factor” in this dip.

Hi there. I love your blog. You have some very nice entries that I am just going to have to try.
That does sound really good! I bet the jalapenos give it a kick!
This looks very yummy! I will definitely give this one a try.
Oooh! Love this one too.

This looks really wonderful. Some of my favorite things are in there! Thanks for posting this.
I am absolutely trying this dip TOMORROW. This sounds completely divine, and I adore feta soooo much. I have a recipe for greek salad I've been meaning to try that included a processed creamy feta dressing, which sounds so fantastic, rather than trying to stab at the chunks of feta with a fork.
If you love feta, you will LOVE this indulgent dish from Gourmet. It's feta & a stick of butter—that's it! I used an entire package of pappardelle pasta, browned one stick of butter in a skillet, then tossed with feta. That's all there is to it, and it's pretty unbeleivable.
This is the dip I've made SEVERAL times already. WE LOVE IT! It's so delicious! Everyone loved this…thanks for making it look like I know what I'm doing in the kitchen. I posted the right link back to this post. 🙂
i made this today and it's so good! thank you so much for the recipe.
This was really delicious, Kevin! I omitted the jalapeno and it was still really tasty.. I mean how could it not be with feta, roasted red pepper and sun-dried tomatoes? 🙂
I wrote about it here: http://tastespace.wordpress.com/2010/06/16/greek-roasted-red-pepper-and-feta-cheese-dip-htipiti/
I just wanted to let you know that I have posted on this extremely flavorful and delicious dip, with a link back to your post. Thanks for a great recipe!
I think I could eat the whole bowl!

Woah, I would not be able to stop eating this!

I could take down that whole bowl Kevin!
The recipe calls for roasted red peppers but in the preparation section you refer to sun dried peppers in oil. Not the same thing. Which should I use?
Sorry Kevin, didn't see the sun dried tomatoes listed as an ingredient. Makes sense now!

This looks amazing! I've been searching for a spicy, vegetarian dip to serve on Superbowl Sunday and I can't imagine making anything else after seeing this!
Oh, your photos are so detailed that I want to eat it right now! Htipiti looks so spicy and delicious that I'll try it for sure.
Mmm, perfect for a movie night with a lot of chips.

I am going to make this for a New Year's Eve party. FETA! It's what's for dinner!
Thanks for sharing this amazing dip. I do admit this is much better than the way I make it. Easier and tastier. WTG Kevin!!!
I just made this for a family party and everyone loved it! It turned out excellent!
