Feta and Roasted Red Pepper Dip (Htipiti)

[heart_this] · Nov 8, 2021 · 24 Comments

Feta and Roasted Red Pepper Dip (Htipiti)

A creamy feta cheese dip with roasted red peppers!

Htipiti (or tirokafteri or tyrokafteri or tyrokavteri) is a Greek style whipped feta cheese and roasted red pepper dip or spread and with the holiday season on us I just had to whip up a batch! At it’s base this dip typically consists of feta, Greek yogurt, roasted red peppers, lemon juice and garlic and it is all pureed or whipped into a dip. I tend to serve this Greek roasted red pepper and feta dip with toasted pita chips but veggies are also great for scooping!

One of the great things about this dip is that you can easily change up the flavours by adding things, like sundried tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, sriracha, roasted jalapenos, cream cheese, mayonnaise, etc.

Thanks for the mention…isn’t it just divine? The sun dried tomatoes are the suprising “x-factor” in this dip.

I am absolutely trying this dip TOMORROW. This sounds completely divine, and I adore feta soooo much. I have a recipe for greek salad I've been meaning to try that included a processed creamy feta dressing, which sounds so fantastic, rather than trying to stab at the chunks of feta with a fork.

If you love feta, you will LOVE this indulgent dish from Gourmet. It's feta & a stick of butter—that's it! I used an entire package of pappardelle pasta, browned one stick of butter in a skillet, then tossed with feta. That's all there is to it, and it's pretty unbeleivable.

    Happy cooking!

    truly,
    Lindsey

This was really delicious, Kevin! I omitted the jalapeno and it was still really tasty.. I mean how could it not be with feta, roasted red pepper and sun-dried tomatoes? 🙂

I wrote about it here: http://tastespace.wordpress.com/2010/06/16/greek-roasted-red-pepper-and-feta-cheese-dip-htipiti/

The recipe calls for roasted red peppers but in the preparation section you refer to sun dried peppers in oil. Not the same thing. Which should I use?
    Thanks
