Tequila and Lime Jalapeno Cranberry Sauce

[heart_this] · Oct 19, 2012 · 36 Comments

Tequila and Lime Jalapeno Cranberry Sauce

A quick and easy homemade cranberry sauce made with fresh cranberries with some jalapeno heat and a hit of limee and tequila.

No holiday turkey dinner is complete without some homemade cranberry sauce and since it is so easy to make at home you really have no excuse not to! Although a basic cranberry sauce is amazing all by itself, you can change things up every once in a while by adding various flavoura and this time I went with a Mexican inspired flavour theme with spicy jalapeno peppers, lime and a hit of tequila. The heat provided by the jalapeno peppers goes well in the sweet and tart cranberry sauce making it little like a salsa and the lime juice really brightens it up!

We eventually did try your recipe and my husband found it entirely too spicey. His digestive system isn’t what it used to be.

    I loved it though. Thanks

Last year I used a chipotle in my cranberry sauce. That extra smoke layer was really good. Can't wait to try the tequila this year, or maybe Lara's triple sec idea.

I make a Cranberry Sauce similar to this but I use Hot Pepper Jelly. It adds a sweetness and you don't have to chop jalapeno's~

Oh! I so have to try this! With my mother-in-law coming I may want to increase the tequila a bit!! LOL or…just skip everything else and just use tequila. Just kidding. I do think I'll give this a try though. Thank you for sharing.

I always make my cranberry sauce with canned cranberry sauce, jalapenos and onions. I think I will throw in some lime juice and tequila this year and see what happens. Thanks for the idea!
