Slow Cooker Italian Beef Sandwiches

Juicy slow cooker Italian style beef sandwiches with provolone and a tasty dipping sauce!

This is a super simple and tasty slow cooker beef recipe with Italian style flavours, including spicy pepperoncini peppers, that’s perfect in sandwiches with provolone cheese! It’s as easy to make as throwing everything into a slow cooker and turning it on! I like to add extra broth to the slow cooker and set it aside before shredding the beef to use as a dip for the sandwich alla French Dip Sandwich style! You could also serve the slow cooked beef over mashed potatoes for a meal!

Slow Cooker Italian Beef Sandwiches

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 8 hours Total Time: 8 hours 10 minutes Servings: 8

Juicy slow cooker Italian style beef sandwiches with provolone and a tasty dipping sauce!

ingredients
    For the slow cooker Italian beef:
  • 3 pounds beef (such as chuck)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (optional)
  • 1 cup beef broth *
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoncini peppers (or pickled hot banana peppers)
  • 2 tablespoons juices from pepperoncini pepper jar (optional)
  • 1 tablespoons worcestershire sauce (gluten-free for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon reduced sodium soy sauce (gluten-free for gluten-free)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • For the sandwiches:
  • 8 rolls/buns
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
directions
    For the slow cooker Italian beef:
  1. Place everything into a slow cooker, cover, and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 3-5 hours. (The beef will be falling apart tender when done!)
  2. Shred the beef and enjoy!
  3. For the sandwiches:
  4. Assemble the sandwiches and enjoy!
Option: Brown the beef in a pan in oil before placing into the slow cooker.
Option: * If you want extra broth to dip sandwiches into, use 2 cups broth, separate extra broth after cooking in the slow cooker and serve on the side for dipping!
Option: Use a roasted red pepper instead of the fresh bell pepper.
Option: Use your favourite sandwich fillers such as lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickles, etc.
