Bacon Guacamole

Bacon Guacamole

Cool and creamy guacamole with crispy and salt bacon makes for perfect snacking satisfaction.

I already have a few hot melted cheese dips planned for the upcoming Super Bowl party but I also want to include something a little on the healthier side and guacamole is perfect party food! The basic guacamole is pretty darn irresistible but I cannot help but tinker with it by adding different things with an example being the blue cheese guacamole that I made not too long ago. This time however I was thinking about a bacon guacamole; if bacon and avocado go great together in sandwiches, and they do, then why not add bacon to guacamole?

Bacon Guacamole
This recipe for bacon guacamole is pretty much the recipe for guacamole with crispy crumbled bacon added but I made one other small change by increasing the amount of tomato as tomato and bacon are also a great flavour combo. I have to say that bacon guyacamole is by far my favourite version of guacamole so far and it will make a welcome addition on the day of the big game! (Is there anything that bacon does not go with?)

Bacon Guacamole
Just look at those beautiful green avocados!

Bacon Guacamole
I am sure that a bacon and blue cheese guacamole would also be amazing!

Looking forward to your cheese dip recipes – we don't have Velveeta or anything similar that melts the same way in Denmark, but I just found a recipe for homemade Velveeta today and made some myself, so I hope it will come in handy for your melted cheese thing!
The guacamole looks great, by the way – as all your recipes do – I just love your pictures 🙂

Bacon Guacamole. That's kind of cheating isn't it? It's kind of like naming a post "Free beer, money and hot ladies" isn't it? looks delicious, Kevin, ha ha.

Inspired! Bacon and avocado is a hot favourite in South Africa on pizzas and burgers – so I can imagine it would be awesome in a dip! Have you tried a guacamole with feta cheese?

LOVED LOVED LOVED this recipe!!! Thank you so much for sharing the recipe. Blogged about it and gave you 100% credit for this wonderful dip. I had it with chips and then put some on top of fish tacos with my family last night for dinner. I did add equal parts lemon juice and lime juice because I like a more citrus taste in mine.

I want to make this for our Spanish Party for july 4th. How long does this last? Is it a one day deal or can it sit over night in the fridge?

    Thanks!

Tara Leigh Lindow: This guacamole is best on the first day but it will keep at least 2 days. The lime juice in the guacamole will help prevent the avocado from browning so you can use a bit more lime juice to help it keep longer. You can also and a splash of lime juice on top of it in to help prevent discoloration on the top where it is exposed to the air. Enjoy!
