Today I have something a little different for you a guest post on oh sweet basil! Carrian of oh sweet basil is a food blogging friend and when she asked me to contribute to a Dude Food roundup for Father’s Day I just had to join in on the fun! When I think of Dude Food for the summer I usually think of firing up the grill for steaks, chicken, and all sorts of tasty out door cooking foods and you really can’t go wrong with ribs! I also like to use some of summers produce and in this case I went with a homemade BBQ sauce made with fresh blackberries that I slathered all over some slow cooked ribs before firing up the grill! Check out the recipe for these blackberry hoisin bbq ribs on oh sweet basil along with the rest of her tasty Dude Food extravaganza for even more ideas for Father’s Day!

Kevin – I was looking to prepare this as the ribs look great. Q: do the ribs really go into the slow cooker without any additional liquid? I’ve never used my slow cooker dry before – guess I am missing out. thanks
Yes the ribs go into the slow cooker dry and they come out nice and moist and tender! Enjoy!
