Carne Guisada Tacos

Warmed tortillas filled tender carne guisada, tangy onions, cheese, cilantro and a splash of lime juice!

Today’s recipe is a quick one using the carne guisada (that I recently shared) in tacos; perfect for Cinco de Mayo! I like to eat the carne guisada as a chili or stew but it’s also great in tacos! Just warm the carne guisada and tortillas, add your favourite taco fillings and enjoy, without utensils! I like to keep my tacos nice and simple with things like fresh diced onions, cilantro, lime juice avocado and maybe a touch of cheese (queso fresco or feta) and avocado but I also change things up depending on mood and what I have available.

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 15 minutes Servings: 4

Warmed tortillas filled tender carne guisada, tangy onions, cheese, cilantro and a splash of lime juice!

ingredients
  • 12 small corn tortillas, warmed
  • 1 pound carne guisada (warm)
  • 1/4 cup onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup queso fresco, crumbled
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime, sliced
directions
  1. Assemble the tacos, squeeze on a bit of fresh lime juice and enjoy!
Option: Use your favourite tacos fillings!
