Burgers are a favourite summer food and it’s always fun to incorporate tasty flavours into them! These nashville hot fried chicken sandwich inspired burgers are a tasty option! These chicken burgers take the spicy seasoning that would be mixed into the batter and from the hot sauce that would coat the crispy fried chicken and mix it right into the burgers! I like to add shredded zucchini to chicken burgers to help keep them moist and breadcrumbs help hold the burgers together. The final touch is to melt some butter, mix in some of the spicy seasoning and baste the burgers in it before throwing them into buns and enjoying!
Nashville Hot Chicken Burgers
All of the flavours of Nashville style hot fried chicken sandwiches in quick and easy burgers!
ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken (or beef or turkey)
- 1 cup zucchini, grated and squeezed to remove excess liquid (optional)
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 4 buns/rolls (gluten-free for gluten-free)
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 16 slices pickles
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons (smoked) paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper

- Mix the chicken, zucchini, breadcrumbs, the seasoning (reserve 1 teaspoon for the hot sauce), and, and form 4 patties.
- Cook the patties by grilling, or pan frying, or broiling, until cooked through (165F), about 3-5 minutes per side.
- Baste the burgers with the hot sauce, assemble the burgers and enjoy!
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan, add 1 teaspoon of the seasoning, mix and turn off the heat.

Option: Add 1 small onion, grated, to the burger mixture.
Option: Add 2 cloves garlic, grated/minced, to the burger mixture.
Option: Sprinkle some of the seasoning on the patties for a dry rub experience!
