One Pan 20 Minute Buffalo Chicken Tortellini

A quick and easy, one-pan buffalo chicken tortellini dinner!

This is a quick and easy meal with all of the flavours of buffalo chicken wings! This dish has a base of tortellini in a cheese sauce, think an mac n cheese like sauce, with three kinds of cheese including cheddar cheese, cream cheese and blue cheese along with a a healthy dose of buffalo hot sauce! Yum! This entire meal is a one-pan meal and once the sauce is ready, tortellini and broth are added and cooked until the pasta is tender. Chicken is the final component and you are go to go! This meal takes less than 20 minutes to make so it’s perfect for busy work nights and it’s a family friendly meal that almost everybody will enjoy it! (You can control the amount of heat by adjusting the amount of buffalo hot sauce that you add, for those the like it hotter, or milder!)

One Pan 20 Minute Buffalo Chicken Tortellini

Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes Total Time: 20 minutes Servings: 6

A quick and easy, one-pan buffalo chicken tortellini dinner!

ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy/whipping cream
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces blue cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (such as Franks red hot)
  • 1 pound refrigerated tortellini
  • 2 cups chicken, cooked and shredded or sliced
directions
  1. Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat, add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about a minute.
  2. Add the cream, broth, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and blue cheese and cook unitl the cheese has melted into the sauce.
  3. Add the hot sauce and bring to a boil before adding the tortellini and cooking until tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. Mix in the chicken and enjoy!
Note: Omit the blue cheese if you don’t like blue cheese.
Note: Different hot sauces have different levels of heat! Add the hot sauce a bit at a time and taste test to get the desired level of heat.
Option: Garish with sliced green onions.
Option: Garish with crumbled bacon!
