With the weather warming up it’s nice to get out and do some cooking on the grill and this Korean style grilled flank steak is a great way to kick the season off! Bulgogi is a Korean dish where meat is marinated in a sweet and salty sauce before being cooked. The meat is typically cut thinly before being marinated and cooked and this version is a little different in that the full flank steak is marinated, cooked and then sliced thinly. Bulgogi marinades often include a fruit, like an apple, pear, kiwi, etc, to help add a natural sweetness and in the summer I enjoy using pineapple which also adds a nice tanginess! This recipe is as simple as making the marinade, marinating the flank (or skirt) steak before grilling and slicing (after letting it rest for a few minutes). The marinade also makes for a tasty sauce to drizzle over the cooked and sliced steak so I like make extra, half for marinating and half for drizzling!

This Korean flank steak looks amazing and recipe sounds delicious! Since we don’t own a grill I was wondering if this could be prepared in oven or on stovetop and if so how to cook it those ways.

I like to make this on the stovetop (in the winter or rain, etc.); pan sear it over medium-high heat until browned on both sides. Use a grill pan to get grill marks!
