An easy to make homemade Montreal steak seasoning blend that is perfect on steaks, mixed into burgers, mashed potatoes, etc!

An easy to make homemade Montreal steak seasoning that is perfect on steaks, mixed into burgers, etc! Montreal steak seasoning is a blend of spices based on the pickling dry-rub mix used in preparing Montreal smoked meat. The steak spice can be bought at the store but it’s pretty pricy and it often contains plenty of salt. Making your own Montreal spice is easy, cheaper and so tasty! Not too mention that you can control exactly how much salt you want in it. Montreal steak seasoning is great rubbed on steaks, brisket, roast beef, mixed into burgers, mashed potatoes, etc.
Given that this is a dry blend of spices, it keeps well and it makes for a perfect gift, especially for dad this Father’s day!

Prep Time: 10 minutes Total Time: 10 minutes Servings: 16(1 cup or 16 1 tablespoon servings)

An easy to make homemade Montreal steak seasoning blend that is perfect on steaks, mixed into burgers, mashed potatoes, etc!

ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons coarse salt
  • 3 tablespoons coarse ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons granulated garlic
  • 2 tablespoons granulated onion
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 1 tablespoon dill seeds
directions
  1. Mix everything and partially grind in a food processor
Option: Add extra spices/herbs like thyme, rosemary, etc. to taste!

    What do you mean by "granulated" onions and garlic? The dried flakes or powder?

      Granulated means the powdered form! So garlic powder and onion powder
