What is the chicken seasoned with
I just made these and they are delicious!! Thank you Kevin.
Donna Bean: I'm glad you like them!
Nice idea to use left over turkey if you have any.
Shelly Scott: This would be perfect for leftover turkey!
Are these still good reheated in the microwave? I'd like to take them to work for lunch!
which seasoning did you use for the one in the photograph?
These are awesome. Thank you.
Manya Horn: I used Taco lime grilled chicken for the chicken in these photos! Enjoy!
These were great! We modified the base idea for what we had in the house – instead of salsa verde + sour cream, we did lettuce and ranch dressing to get a ranch chicken avocado burrito. Delicious, thank you for the inspiration!
These were delicious and so easy after a long workday. We added some chopped fresh tomato.
Kevin, I also wondered where you got the chicken. But, I re-read and found this, "I used Taco lime grilled chicken for the chicken". So, I am going to try that. Might should be earlier in the recipe. Anyway …
I am trying to make Chipotle chicken burrito bowls at home. I plan to use your Barbocoa for it, but I'd also like to figure out the seasoned chicken pieces. Yet, maybe, your Taco Lime Grilled Chicken will work.
I will do my best to update you.
Thanks, David Fullerton –> wish I could figure out how to leave a reply email …
This chicken avocado burritos look so delicious, I will try this recipe. I'm sure my kids will love it
Hello! I can't thank you enough for this recipe. I started using it about a year ago and it's become a staple in my house. I have now adapted it a bit to my own liking, but I probably make these burritos twice a week, every week. I added some diced jalapeno and found that I prefer a sharp cheddar cheese–regardless, this recipe is the inspiration for mine and my boyfriend's favorite easy meal. 🙂
Unknown: I'm glad you like it and I love the use of the sharp cheddar and jalapenos!
Are the nutrition facts for one serving?
Oh wow, do these ever sound good!
Making them today. I’ve had the boneless chicken thighs marinating in the lime juice and your homemade taco seasoning since last night and I got a beautiful avocado from the fella that sells them on the corner of my street!😊😊
Marinating thighs is dill pickle juice a few hours is also a nice taste by the way….
Just ate these!!! They are so good! Used some leftover rotisserie chicken leftovers, added line juice and cilantro and a little cumin. There was none left, we’ll be having these again soon!
You should include directions on how to prepare this. How do you cook the chicken? You left out the most important part!
Check the links in the recipe for three different chicken recipe options, or feel free to use leftover rotisserie chicken. Enjoy!
just starting
These look so good!! I love avocados inside the burrito, they get so melty and tender when they’re hot. I need to try this sometime soon!
your not gonna force us to eat certain ingredients that we hate , Correct?
I’m on a low-carb diet….this burrito looks perfect for me with the corn tortilla. Will try it for lunch. I have all the ingredients already…Ya7!!!!!
Looks delicious! How are you meal prepping this and keeping the avo fresh? I saw people are freezing them as well. Does the avo turn brown?
There will be some browning of the avocados but it will be minimized by the lime juice in the salsa verde. You can toss the diced avocado in extra lime juice to minimize the browning and wrapping the burritos tightly, trying to remove as much air from the inside as possible, helps as well! Another option is to mash the avocado and mix it in with the salsa verde! Enjoy!
Hi,
I was wondering if the nutritional information was based on one burrito alone.
The info is per burrito.
Ok, these are the best. All 4 in my house loved them! 🥑 ❤️
It looks very yummy and delicious. just mouth string for me and honestly if I can eat this then I can eat on my pc.just joking I try this weekend. can you suggest to me some best chicken recipes for a party? Thanks
Looks yummy!! Must make for my family this Sunday.
Hi Kevin, These look heavenly, but my problem is we don’t like jalapeno (salsa verde). Would it be alright with replacing it with something like a “Spicy Tomato Relish” or can you suggest something else please?
We live in Sydney – Australia and can’t always get some of the ingredients in some of your recipes, but LOVE the ones I can make with whatever I can get here. Your recipes are ALWAYS so colourful and inviting, such an inspiration that I regularly have your recipes on our table. Thank you.
Hi Josephine! I’m glad that you have been enjoying my recipes! You could replace the jalapenos with another green chili such as poblano, serrano, etc. or even a green Thai or birds eye chili would work. If you use a chili that is hotter than a jalapeno, start with a small amount and add a little to get to the desired level of heat. I have not tried spicy tomato relish but that sounds like it would be good!
Truly appreciate and very much impressed by the way you made this wonderful burritos. Everything is so nicely described that really helped. Looking forward for more such recipes in future too.
Burritos are my favorite and this recipe with avacado is so tempting to me. A must try thing!
Wow, so simply yet so good. This is the type of lunch i’d be excited to open up my lunch bag for during work. Worth the time to grill the chicken so unlock all that flavor. and the avocado really helps overcome the dryness of the chicken. winner!
Oh! it looks soo yummy and healthy too. I am gonna try this today and will pin it for later. Thanks.
What is the recipe for the sauce?
Here is the link for the salsa verde recipe: https://www.closetcooking.com/salsa-verde/
These are so good it’s insane! And crazy easy! Been making them for a long time!
How do you keep the avocado from turning brown?
A splash of lime juice (or lemon juice) helps prevent avocado browning! (If you eat them soon after making them, the avocados will not have time to brown.)
The combination of tender chicken, creamy avocado, and flavorful spices wrapped in a warm tortilla is sure to satisfy your taste buds. I’ll surely five this recipe a try for a tasty and filling meal!
This is one of my favorite recipe’s! So easy to make and so delicious! 😊
It is funny to read that most people compliment the recipes because of the ingredients and the pictures, instead of using them and then to share the experience. I made few of them, mostly soups and I liked them very much. Why to waste the time on writings instead of cooking.
Best regards, Mona.
Looking at this “Chicken and Avocado Burritos” recipe has my mouth watering already! The combination of juicy chicken and creamy avocado seems like a match made in heaven. And adding oozy, gooey melted cheese to the mix? Count me in!
I find the simplicity of this recipe quite appealing. It’s clear that each ingredient has a role to play, contributing to the overall flavor and texture of the burrito.
The inclusion of salsa verde is a nice touch. I imagine it would bring a fresh, tangy flavor that would complement the richness of the avocado and cheese perfectly. As for the sour cream (or Greek yogurt), I see it as the final, indulgent touch that would tie all the flavors together.
I appreciate the fact that the recipe is very flexible, too. It sounds like you could easily make it with leftover chicken, or even switch the meat for another protein you have on hand. Plus, who doesn’t love a meal you can hold in your hand?
One thing that caught my eye is the tip to place the cheese at the top or bottom of the burrito before grilling. That’s a clever trick to ensure a good, melty cheese distribution. I will definitely keep that in mind when I try this recipe.
Even though I haven’t yet had the chance to make these burritos myself, I’m quite impressed by the thoughtfulness of the recipe. It sounds quick, easy, and absolutely delicious. It’s definitely going on my list of recipes to try soon!
The secret ingredient in this marinade took the flavors to a whole new level.
I’m drooling over here, I thought i knew what comfort food was, and then i saw this. Your food always has that magical touch, you have the culinary art of turning ordinary ingredients into extra ordinary feasts. I couldn’t resist trying this recipe and it exceeded all expectations. One bite and i was in heaven.
